Berkley Pro Menendez Earns Third Pro Title

Lake Dardanelle, Arkansas

Berkley pro Mark Menendez went toe-to-toe with bass fishing’s biggest name, KVD, and won. Menendez outlasted KVD by 2 pounds, 3 ounces with his winning bag of 55 pounds, 7 ounces on Arkansas’ Lake Dardanelle. The Berkley pro cashed a $100,000 check for his efforts.

“I had a very consistent week,” Menendez said. It was simply a matter of sticking to my guns and fishing my game. I fished through pockets where the fish were untouched. That was one of the biggest factors to winning this event.”

Menendez used Berkley Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon for his flipping presentation, spooled on Pflueger reels.

Menendez was not the only Berkley pro giving chase to the Diamond Drive Title; Chris Lane (3rd), Skeet Reese (6th) and Bradley Hallman (12th) all continued the high-end performance by Berkley pro anglers.

The next Elite Series event is set for May 2-5 on Wheeler Lake in Decatur, Ala.
