The Berkley Conservation Institute (BCI) awarded the Michigan BASS Federation Nation the annual Berkley Angler Recruitment Award. Paul Sacks, President of the Michigan BFN, was presented a check for $1,500 worth of Berkley fishing gear at the BASS Federation Nation awards banquet Feb. 22 in Shreveport, L.A.
“Drive the State” was the theme for the annual recruitment and retention campaign for the BASS Federation Nation. Through the efforts of their angler recruitment program, Michigan increased membership by an impressive 43 percent. The Michigan BASS Federation Nation offered several cash rewards to bolster growth throughout the club.
“We have seen a dramatic increase in the BASS Federation Nation despite difficult economic times,” Jim Martin, BCI Conservation Director, said. “The Michigan BASS Federation Nation and their recruitment drive beat the odds and created a huge jump in recruitment. It is my privilege along with the Berkley Conservation Institute to honor the Michigan BASS Federation Nation with our Berkley Angler Recruitment Award.
