Shortly After the first World War a young German immigrant named Otto Henze took a job in a Philadelphia fishing reel factory. In 1932 Henze founded Penn® Fishing Tackle Manufacturing Company.
Penn® was branded as a “saltwater” fishing company with the intent of equipping consumers with gear that can stand up to salt water and bring in any size catch. Penn® Senator and International reels are known around the world as some of the toughest, most reliable reels ever made.
