I fish a lot of Chesapeake bay tributaries for bass, stripers, and snakeheads and I like this rod because it has a nice soft tip for casting that lets the fish really get a bait, but it has a stout enough backbone (with braid to copolymer leader) for a lot of the moving baits I throw like chatterbaits and swim jigs. This is a great chatterbait rod for skipping around cypress tumps and sparse spatterdock if you’re like myself and do not want a super duper moderate action rod. I think you could flip with it too if you wanted, something like a 3/16 oz weight with a senko would work well. I got this when they were on sale for $99 and that would be a pretty hard to beat in my opinion.

I love this rod. It feels like a Cadillac in your hands and flings a swim jig like no other. I think if feels more like a moderate fast, than a fast action rod but I like it. You have to set the hook a little harder than a typical fast action rod.
