I have the UK/EU version (only difference is the rod has cork handles rather than Eva foam which I find more comfortable) and I have it in 7’ and 15-60g cast weight and it is amazing! I took it to Sweden from the uk (just barely got in the case and it caught me a pike bigger than I caught on my beast rod, it was a 25lbs pike and I don’t know how this little perch/ small pike rod handled it (bass for US) and it’s SO GOOD 25LBS!!! The rod is sensitive and amazing I thought it would snap the fight only lasted around 15 mins it is a great lowish budget combo and great for backbone!!!!

I have the 7’ 15-60g of this in the UK/EU model and I love it it has cork handles unlike the US which is Eva foam but the reel and rod are the same and it’s beautiful and catches 25lbs pike!!!! I think this small rod and reel are understated 20lbs max drag and it caught me a 25lbs pike In ~2hours and the fight lasted on 10 mins very happy almost slipped on the ice and fell in (took it to Sweden)

Not a bad combo the rod is better than prior conditions, the reel however is a downgrade. If your someone who dials in your baitcaster with the traditional method with rate of fall, this is possibly an upgrade. However if your someone who dials in your baitcaster for distance the old model is miles better. If you don’t set this new gen up correct it’s super sensitive and will backlash all the time. Never had issues getting long casts with the old gen.
