I’ve always used ugly stick rods I seen this on sale with the reel and bought it. Reel would not spin no matter what you did. Took it to the local rod shop and found that the main shaft is bent and seized inside the brass sleeve that incases it. Great rod and I’m not saying don’t buy the combo. Maybe just a bad batch because I’ve seen several people fishing with this set up and it’s great.

Honestly I have always love ugly stick have been using them for my entire life .. I bought this cat reel and pole combo great deal . But had gotten the reel and I cannot reel it.. it locks it does not move smooth and freely. I’m not saying do not buy this. This is the first reel I have ever got that was broke. I hope the company will see this and give me a deal on a reel or a free one .. I will never stop buying ugly sticks just make sure you do it in store as the reel may not work properly.

Great for saltwater too, but use this daily to catch catfish in the Potomac
Order off Amazon first, they sent me half of the 2 peice rod returned it, bought it again off here and have been using almost everyday since with no problems
