20lbs Trilene Big Game Fluoro was perfect top shot with 40lbs braid on a overnight trip out of Los Angeles on the party boat Freedom. It easily handled a 25lbs California Yellowtail fly lining whole squid.

I've used it quite a bit since buying and it's a good line I've caught quite a few fish on it with the biggest being 5 1/2 pounds largemouth on the 12 pound test line and a 5 pound one on the 20 pound test both lines work really well the only negative is which is not a problem for me is I think it's a bigger diameter than other lines and probably a little stiffer but I'll continue buying and using.

I found it well made and quite strong.
12 lb test with a good knot holds 12+ lbs.
I've found few like that. Most break 10-15% before their ratings. Knot type does make a difference. But I many cases it isn't the knot, but the line itself.
