The PENN® Ally II Boat Rod has the power and durability you need for offshore saltwater fishing. PENN uses a combination of Seaguide® Stainless Steel guides with zirconium inserts and PacBay® machined aluminum roller guides in key high-stress areas to extend the life of your line by reducing friction. The incredibly tough tubular E-glass rod blank with a solid glass tip withstands the strain of big, hard fighting fish. A non-corrosive aluminum Seaguide® HBS reel seat keeps reels firmly secured during battle. Aluminum gimbals and PacBay® aluminum butt sections provide considerable advantage in keeping the rod butt solidly planted during prolonged battles. Non-slip EVA grips withstand long days under the sun and saltwater spray while still providing a secure hold. I purchased this rod for use with my new Penn Fathom Electric 80 reel. Performed flawlessly during a recent deep drop fishing trip over the continental shelf. Caught numerous large Snowy Grouper, and a big Black Fin Tuna during retrieve. I highly recommend!

I spent over 12,000..00 just on this order. I am 63 years old. I have always bought Penn reels and poles my whole life. . I just had bought me a boat. The 12,000.00 was half the order. With the customer service you gave me . SUCKED, SUCKED AND SUCKED. BOTTOM LINE. At this point I will give Shimano a go.
