The PENN® Carnage™ III rods are truly in a class of their own. Our proprietary SLS3 blank construction provides a very thin diameter blank, while maintaining a lightweight feel which is ideal for heavier boat, jig, surf, and nearshore models. My 209LC arrived with the line counter broken off so I have not used it yet.
I put a seabourg 300J-DH electric reel on the carnage rod and I load the boat.
Caught a trigger yesterday with a cash reward tag in it.

Well built. Purchased with Torque 40 narrow two speed reel for offshore species. I like conventional reels for offshore bottom fishing or flatline. King, wahoo, blackfin and snapper are target species. Would highly recommend.

I have now 4 of these rods that I use offshore for red snapper with silver slammer reels...looks reel good and they pull the snappers up real well from 60' down.
