I've landed some heavy monsters with this reel.... i keep it on hand for the big ones... landed this 33 with ease yesterday. Haven't figured out how to cast it for distance but I'm not really good with bait casters so maybe it's just my inexperience.

I have three of these workhorses in my arsenal. They are what I cut my teeth on over 25 years ago. I still use them every year. I have taken big cats out of local rivers to bucket mouth bass out of farm ponds. They are all geared so strong and solid and the drags on Abu reels are far and away the best! These classic round baitcasters can also handle being treated roughly, although I do not recommend it.

Im a fishing guide on the rogue river. This reel used to be my favorite for the last 10+ years. Seems like the last couple years the quality of this real has gone down. Iv bought 3 just the last year and half and all three have gave me problems. They are not lasting a full season. The last reel I bought just this year didn't even make it 4 months. I havr multiple buddys having the same problems! This will be my last year buying this reel!
