The second generation PENN® Fathom® II star drag reel is built with a rigid metal frame and sideplates, now with added features to make it more angler friendly than ever. Featuring our fast gear access sideplate, any angler can service their gears and HT-100™ drag system quickly and efficiently. The PENN live spindle design offers long, effortless casts, while the power gear ratios (select models only) give ultimate torque for winching up deep fish. Magnetic casting brake available on 12 and 15 sizes only.

    Too Tiny

    I wish they'd jusr make what we ask for. This COULD have been a perfect reel for surf casting (maybe even ulua) but its just way too small, drag too light, poor line capacity, for normal saltwater long casting- plus it only comes in right hand- which can be problematic with a long surf rod handle. * This needs to be in the "sweet spot" in a size "30".

    I dont know who designs this stuff anymore- but you're NOT paying attention to your loyal customers 🙄

    The PENN Fathom™ II Star Drag Casting Special Conventional Reel is currently available only in a right-hand retrieve configuration. We know how important it is to have gear that matches your preferred setup, and we’re here to help.

    If you're looking for a left-hand retrieve alternative with similar performance, we recommend checking out our Fathom II Level Wind Conventional Star Drag Reels, which are available in both right- and left-hand models—such as the FTHII15LWLCLH (with line counter) or FTHII20LWLH (without line counter).
