This reel is an amazing heavy duty reel capable of catching large game fish like Marlin, Bluefin, Grouper, or large sharks. Don’t let the bigger reel sizes like the INT80 or the FTHM60 fool you. When worked right, this reel can handle almost any fish in the sea. With its large line capacity and loud bait clicker there isn’t a place to go wrong with this reel. I recommend using the Senators in a “jigging” or “trolling” setting as it is a lot easier to just set the clicker and wait. Although they can be used in surf, I would recommend something to help you take your bait out farther into sea. If you’re looking for a conventional reel that can be used for charter fishing and be used time and time again without problems. This is your reel. There’s a reason they used it in Jaws!
