Very good rod for the $$
This is my third one of these for bass fishing. All my bait casting and spinning rods are a combination of cherrywood and lightning rods. Most of them are spinning rods from 5ft to 8ft. Some if them are twenty-five + years old. Never had one come apart on me.. Just very good quality rods for the money.

Really Nice Rod
This casting Berkley Cherrywood rod is a very good rod. I’ve only used it a few times so far and it handles nicely. This is my first Berkley casting rod. I pretty much knew that it would be a great rod because I already have 6 Cherrywood HD spinning rods and they are also very good. Don’t over look these rods.

Better than expected
Bought the 7' single-piece medium heavy model for back-country wilderness canoe fishing trips. It is a firm and powerful casting rod, great for my usual targets of big bass, pike, and lakers. Definitely not a buggy-whip, this rod has more backbone than I thought possible at this price. Good for trolling from a canoe too. Comfortable cork handles. I have to admit I've used lesser-quality casting rods for triple the price (or more, ugh).
It is worth noting that the rod arrived poorly-packed. It was loose with only remnants of a long square-shaped broken torn and completely-crushed box with no padding or structural support of any kind. When I saw the wrecked packaging, I fully expected the rod to be destroyed, yet it is somehow perfectly straight with flawless finish and not even a bent eyelet. Apparently they are also bomb-proof. Nice work, Berkley.

Love the short 5-6 version of this rod. It’s def built well and has everything I was looking for in a short rod. 5 star rating.
