4'6" gx2 with 6lb monofilamemt and a "tiger apache" 1/4oz Joe's Flies landed this beauty. Great rod, handles perfectly, great for hiking into little creeks or taking a personal best 19.75" brook trout out of a stocked lake! The pink accents are sexy.

I was fishing sand shrimp for anything that wanted to bite not expecting a sturgeon, but I hooked one on this rod and it held up just fine. This little stiff rod is a beast.

Bought the rod for throwing Thundersticks and large spinners for salmon/steelhead in Michigan. First time out caught a nice steelhead on a Thunderstick in the Grand River. Rod casts like a dream and is light in the hand. Build quality by far surpasses the price. Love this rod.

I have 3 GX2 7ft MH 1-piece rods (USSP701MH) from 2024 and they are great. I especially love the double-seated 1-piece guides. I wanted to buy 2 more for family. But it looks like in 2025-2026 the guides are now only single-seated. So they kept the same model numbers and raised the price by 20%, but degraded the quality at the same time. I hate when merchants use this deceptive tactic to trick customers. So I wont be buying any more Ugly Stiks. Please bring back the double-seated 1-piece guides.

I ordered a 4’9 heavy gx2 but ups lost my order I contacted ugly stick they told me to file a claim with ups but ups just tells me to contact sender a bunch of back and fourth bull just for me to give this company 70$ for absolutely free if you buy this pole buy it from USA fish bc I actually got my order then pathetic!!
