Had a 7ft med.heavy spinning rod that i used for bass fishing, after having the rod for two weeks I got my lure snagged on a log, went to break the 12lb test mono and the rod snapped instead of the line, it snapped about 3in in front of the first line guide turning the rod into about a 3ft rod, I've used lighting rods in the past from the spinning to the baitcasting rods and loved using them and would recommend them to friend and family, but after this incident I don't think I will anymore.

Gid day. I have 5 Berkley Lightning rods and I love them.
I fish a lot. This little light action rod in my picture is bullet proof. I use it creek fishing for Northern Ontario native brook trout. I’ve crawled though the nastiest bush with this rod trying to get to perfect little spots on creeks.
I thought I’d treat my self to a substantial rod upgrade so I bought a brand new Fenwick trout series rod. Well that didn’t last long going where I fish. Fenwick did warranty the rod but I won’t be taking it again where my good lil’lightning rod will go.

Good rod with good feel. Getting out there soon to give it a try. It's been a long winter in New England
