The PENN Rival was engineered to be an extremely versatile all-around reel at an affordable price. Features a lightweight graphite frame and sideplates with aluminum frame rings for improved rigidity to prevent frame-flex. HT-100 drag washers provide smooth drag under heavy loads. Line Capacity Rings eliminate the question of how much line you have left when fighting a fish.

I bought 2 of these reels, they are junk. While filling the 1st spool with line, the level wind feature failed and stripped the brass journal and remained on the left side of the reel. The clicker button switch is very hard to activate on or off. The drag is grabby and uneven.
Both reels seem to have a lot of free play in the handle bushings, the shaft feels loose and just doesn't feel solid. Both reels have burrs on the level wind line guide that shaves the line as can be seen in the photos. The best thing about this reel is that it looks good in the pictures and sounds good in the description.
These are definitely going to be returned.

Two years old and plastic Idler gear is loosing it teeth. Reel is no longer usable and to order the part plus shipping is nearly 1/3 of the cost of a new reel that I would never buy again.

The 15w Fits my 7'3 med heavy rod perfectly and drops my 2oz jiging spoons and bucktails quickly even transfered it to a surf rod for bottom fishing and had no issues casting 4oz sinker
