    Quality at a good price

Just had this set-up out on an East Coast charter. Caught red fish, pollock and haddock - oh, and one dog fish... The reel is great. Would be nicer if it had a leveling guide, but all-in-all a wonderful reel. Took me a little while to get used to the button that allows the drag lever to move all the way up to "full" drag. I understand why it's there, but, practice with it before you go out. All-in-all, I do really like the lever drag and how smooth this reel works. The rod is, also a very solid and well built tool. Two, caveats: one, I wish that the but grip was the same foam as the fore end grip. That would make it more comfortable when leaning on the deck rail. The but grip is a hard plastic. Two, I had several occasions when my 80 lb braid line jumped off the tip roller and got wedged between the roller and the roller frame. I will see if I can tighten up the roller screws to see if that helps. Not a big deal, but keep an eye on that roller if you are using braid. Again, I am very happy with this set-up. A quality tool and a good price.
